Don't know if anyone's still reading this community, but if they are and they're in Brisbane or Sydney and want as close an experience to being on TAR as we're likely to get without migrating, can I suggest going in the Urban Max? I went in the Melbourne one this year (details here if anyone's interested) and it's a huge amount of fun.

Anyway, to get back on topic - yay, TAR13 starts next week. Any news on when/if Seven's going to show it?

Edited to change number, because I can't actually count it seems.

I was watching "Girls of the PlayBoy Mansion" the other night and they were throwing a baby shower for John and Victoria. Anyone know if she has had the baby yet? If so, what was it? She looked about 6 months along in the show, but I am unsure when it was filmed!

EDIT - acording to the forum attached to their website, Victoria was due on October 1st (my birthday). She gave birth to a baby girl, Trease Alynette Baker, on Oct. 6.

Was I the only one that missed the Memo that the show was being moved to 8:30 tonight? I'm getting the shits with channel 7, they were showing it at 9:30 every week until last week when it was on at 10:30...I flick over at 9:20 to get ready to watch it and its almost finished. I was pissed.
Anyone happen to know which episode it was and where I could download it from???

Thanks muchly!

Yeah, I know most of us have probably seen it, but I'll still watch anyway!

July 31, 2006 -- DON'T expect Lance Bass and his lover Reichen Lehmkuhl to be together much longer. Friends of Bass say he's sick of Lehmkuhl's controlling ways. "Reichen forced Lance to come out just at the same time he has a book coming out ['Here's What We'll Say'] so he could ride the publicity wave," said our spy. "He is a big gay activist and very controlling. He wants Lance to give up his straight friends and do whatever he tells him to." Lehmkuhl has taken every opportunity to go on-air. He told "The Insider," "I'm happy it's shocking people . . . I couldn't be more proud of Lance. It's definitely a sense of relief. There are a lot more smiles. We are so happy about it." A rep for Bass skirted the issue and said: "Lance couldn't be happier with the overwhelming reaction he's getting from all over the world."

So, how long as Chip and Reichen, not been Chip and Reichen? (if you can't remember them, they were the winners of season 4)

TAR9 finale [12 Jun 2006|06:35pm]

So Darwin Airport's a "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service" venue. Who knew?

Yay, Ray and Yolanda!

Yay, making the hippies eat crickets!

Yay, monkeys!

Yay, Yolanda was much quicker at making a Monkey Feast than the boys. Chopping skills come in handy.

But gold-leafing?! I probably would have done the pots.

So who's everyone barracking for?

[29 May 2006|12:58pm]

So no one's really commented on last week's episode. I'm finding I now dislike three teams (go Ray and Yolanda!) which makes the odds of me liking the final winner pretty low to say the least.

Taxigate was kind of lame - I'm guessing the dispatcher recognised Eric and Jeremy's voices and so assumed their reservation was a prank and cancelled it too (especially given the false name they gave!) I wish I knew what the rules were on cancelling other people's taxis - surely if that's allowed you could cancel other people's flight bookings as well and that would really screw the race up right there.

I did laugh at the crocodile farm - I hate crocodiles, so I'd have been terrible at walking over to get the clue. Ergh. I wonder if both of them had to go a certain distance, or whether one of them (theoretically me) could huddle near the edge calling encouragment. Or just frozen in fear, whichever's easiest.

The yield was odd. I don't like the yield concept, but surely if you're going to use it, use it on the team furthest behind you or the strongest competition. Don't waste it on pissing off someone just because you don't like them.

(And the Jo half of MoJo needs to learn that just because a woman's crying doesn't mean giving her a pep talk is a good idea. Just back off and let her finish crying, she'll be fine in about 5 minutes. Whereas if you start, you'll just end up arguing and ignoring the hourglass.)

Skydiving, meh. T-tow, whatever.

Termite mounds, pretty, long grass - anyone else go "I hope they've got good shoes on"? (Or in my husband's case - "I hope the hippies get bitten by a taipan. Damn, missed again.")

The detour was good - I was expecting the river to be quicker than the digeridoo, so that was a good surprise. And yay, Ray and Yolanda! Finally they win something!

And the ending was hilarious. Why in God's name was whichever hippie it is trying to go across the rocks?!? They deserved to lose. Wonder how they'll go without shoes, because that really does add a whole degree of difficulty. Especially should they go somewhere cold - I'm thinking Canada's looking good about now.

Still, getting near the end I guess. Still one non-elim to go - can the hippies make it 3/3 (and how many items of clothing will they have left if they do?)

Season 9 - Episode 10 [26 May 2006|09:43pm]

Recap for this week's show (handy if you actually missed it!)

So finally Miss Alli mentions the pants! hooray (give me a break, it's Friday and a girl can be shallow once a week surely?)

Had a horrible moment - ended up actually wanting MoJo to get there before the hippies due to BJs idiocy! rock hopping? sheesh - time and place lad!

I know it's a tight call - but I do actually prefer the hippies to the Mojo. I know - but I do - or at least I did this week.
